Sugar and weight loss?  sugar is everywhere

Believe it or not, today we are floating or rather drowning in sugar. No matter whether you have sweet tooth or not, knowingly or unknowingly we are all addicted to sugar. If you are thinking that only desserts like cakes, pastry or cookies contain sugar then you are in a fool’s paradise. Almost every savory items (read: patties, pasta, noodles, pizza, sauce, pasta sauce, bread, biscuits etc) also contain a good amount of sugar. This is the primary reason for being those items way more tasty than their homemade versions. In fact, foods which are promoted as “healthy” or “natural” (read: all fruit juice, energy drink, diet chips etc) are also laden with added sugars.

Are you the one who always reads the label before buying any food? Well, if you are smart then food companies are even smarter. A recent study says that 74% of packaged food hide the added sugar in their food label. Feeling cheated? Added sugar comes in different forms which make the situation even more complicated. Food companies use more than 61 types of added sugar to make their product irresistible and addictive to their consumers. Ranging from common names such as sucrose, high fructose corn syrup to barley malt, dextrose, maltose, rice syrup etc are used frequently to add the extra punch to all the packaged junk. So next time when you purchase such a junk remember it was definitely a high amount of sugar in some form.

Sugar alert for weight loss and many more

However, this is the high time when we MUST concentrate on the quality of food rather than adjusting only calories. These packaged foods containing loads and loads of sugar create much more damage that we can even think of. A study shows that all these high sugar containing foods damage our intestinal lining and leads to leaky gut which in turn trigger an autoimmune response and leads to develop thyroid issues, hormonal imbalance, obesity, diabetes, and other lifestyle diseases. It is evident that if you don’t want to start your day with a box of medicine you MUST CUT DOWN your sugar addiction.

The bottom line-

Yes, sugar and weight loss shall be pronounced together today. If you are serious with your weight loss and concerned about your health then stop consuming junk foods. No amount of  weight loss program can help you achieve your goal until you limit your addiction for pasta, pizza, noodles, cookies, processed fruit juices, biscuits, pastries, cakes, processed breakfast cereal etc. Therefore instead of eating less rice at home or eating salad for dinner, indulge in homemade food. Start making your favorite dishes at home. Satisfy yourself with homemade snacks, healthy drink, dessert- chocolate, sweets or savory items. Eat the extra spoon of rice or another roti without any guilt when hungry. Slowly work on controlling overeating on a regular basis. Cut down consumption of tea/coffee but enjoy them twice with little sugar. If you really want a calorie check, do that on packaged food and not on your homemade dishes. Save money and save your health and ensure fast weight loss. Are you ready?
